Fun for Kids

Fun for KidsThere is a rhythm to pricey park tickets

We have all named our country, rip of Britain because of the amount of taxes we pay and the cost of living. Now with the cost of park tickets going up every year, it’s a shame that the average family and parents from low incomes, including single parents will feel the pinch in their pockets this summer, the rising cost for their weekend trips to enjoy the thrills and spills at their favourite theme parks has increased. Watchdogs have warned.

Millions of people who visit fun parks every year must brace themselves for slow-moving queues and a lack of healthy foods, according to Holiday Which? Magazine.

The magazine investigated the six most-visited theme parks in the UK. A family ticket for two adults and two children can cost up to £89. Together with travel and food the cost can soon add up.

But parents with two teens buying on the-day tickets at the most expensive parks face paying almost £130 for the privilege because adult prices kick in at 12.

Unfair

Fun for KidsThe most expensive on the day tickets were at Alton Towers, Staffs, and Thorpe Park, Surrey, at £29, Drayton Manor, Staffs, at £20.95, and Flamingo Land, North York, at £20.
Lego land only charges adult prices for over 15s but at £24 they do have the most expensive child ticket.
Holiday Which? Said:” Theme parks are enormous fun but entrance fees can be expensive. We feel prices for child tickets are particularly unfair, since, apart from Lego land children over the age of 12 years have to pay full adult prices.”

Please don’t forget the price of gas (petrol) when working out your plans on a trip to a theme park. So please plan ahead to avoid disappointment.
