Pregnancy and Baby
Life is never the same again, bringing up children is both exciting and rewarding, but at times it can be challenging and worrying. We all wonder about their general health and safety at some stage during their development. Especially during the early years.
For most of us these days a major focus of concern with our children is not just on their health, but on helping to fulfil their potentials. To learn to behave appropriately in different social situations, I think learning to deal with boredom is also a useful skill to develop.
Pregnancy
Pregnancy can be a most joyful and profound or tiring event. Either way it’s an experience that only you can feel and learn from. No-one can tell you, how it’s going to be.
Yes it’s good to get books about pregnancy, birth and baby, to get tips and ideas and build up knowledge, especially if it’s your first time, but make sure you give yourself plenty of rest at the beginning and the end of the pregnancy.
Your new baby
Caring for your new born baby may seem daunting at first and you may be unsure about health matters that concern him/her.
They say the first six to eight weeks is hard, I would put it down
to being a big learning curve, you becoming a mother, knowing your baby, learning what works for you and your baby. It’s not easy.
Bonding
The bond between mother and child is no weaker if the two are separated at birth for a period of time.
Fathers need to bond too and should concentrate on developing their own relationship with their baby, it’s just as important for the father as well as for the mother.
