Separated Couples
It’s a known fact that some couples who have ended their relationship with their partners still live together. And some married couples going through a divorce also still live together while in both cases the partners are dating someone else.
Some say they are waiting to sell the house. For example she says, I have recently been seeing a guy for about four months now and he still shares the house with his ex. He says, the relationship is over and he is waiting for the papers to come through and at the same time he can’t find a suitable property to rent or buy.
Why do women put up with this kind of situation? Because some are so weak to do anything about it because they are still in love with their partners. Or their partners beat them up and they are scared to have them removed from the house.
If you are dating someone who is still living with their partner please consider the following. Ask him, or her, the following.
10 Tips
- Try and find out what role his or her ex plays in his or her life
- Is he or she a best friend with no sexual attractions?
- Is he or she connected through joint finances?
- Is he or she still sleeping with him or her? You need to be persistent and, if possible, meet him or her in person. His or her ex.
- If you suspect there’s still an attraction between them, does it make you feel insecure? If you don’t feel happy or special at the start of a relationship, you never will.
- Alarm bells should start ringing if he or she attempts to set rules such as “never phone me at home”, or refuses to tell you where he or she lives.
- One thing you must not do is confront him or her if you suspect he or she is still seeing him or her. He or she will be defensive and angry and he or she might deny everything.
- If you don’t trust him or her, then you shouldn’t be together.
- Things may take a while to untangle if he or she is still living with him or her for money reasons or “for the kids”.
- If you cannot see practical steps to make him or her understand the way you feel, please end the relationship as you will regret it if it carries on like it is now.
